I thought I would take a break out of my day to enlighten you as to what I think is the worst Monday in a long while.
My day starts quite early, at about 4:30AM. I get up, slowly and groggily, so I give myself a little spare time in the morning to come around to the idea of being awake.
The Monday morning rush starts – you know, the bit where you suddenly remember all the things that you don’t remember where they are – keys, wallet, workplace pass, those kind of things. Well, because of this, I run a little late, and have to dash to get the train for 6:45AM. I just make it, but haven’t had time to buy a ticket.
Usually, a nice chap wanders up in his hat and jacket (he wears other clothes too, I’m sure) and asks me if I need a ticket, for which I happily pay.
This morning, I was instead issued with a fine. And I still have to buy my ticket.
So, running late, I have to get a taxi to work – it’s a long walk, and I usually leave an hour. The paperwork I had to fill in for the fine took a little longer than I would like, and so I had to shell out more money.
Then, when I reach those workplace gates, the ones that open with a special card with my picture and name? Well, that special card is lost somewhere in my journey. And will cost money to replace.
The cherry on the cake was when I sat at my desk, thoroughly miserable from my Monday morning blues (well justified I should add), and decide that a choclate bar from my lunch would help ease my pain. I reach into my lunch bag… and discover the low calorie jelly I picked up had split open, ruining half of my lunch.
I ate it anyway. Stupid jelly isn’t ruining my lunch completely, I thought.
So, everything has gone pretty wrong so far. Fingers crossed for round two!
