Many posts over a short time… Aren’t you lucky? That’s a genuine question, by the way.
Judging by the responses I have had from various realms of the interwebs, it looks like my idea is getting a little popular – if you like it, please let me know, and more importantly let others know too! I would love for the kickstarter to be a success, but at the moment I think I may have to release the card game first and work out the video game second. I want it to be compatible from the word go, really throw everyone into a world of my imagining… As scary as that might be!
The most important tasks I have presenting me at the moment are as follows:
- Finishing the card list, and updating everything. You may remember from my previous post, Data Transfer (Classic), that all the information was wiped after numerous computer errors. There was a lot to put back, and I haven’t finished it as of yet. I need to get these done because…
- …I’m updating everything. I have come up with new gaming mechanics, and three different difficulties for play. I’ve tried to incorporate as much as possible, and I will be actively encouraging players of the game to “bend” the rules as much as possible (this should be arranged before the game begins, however!). One of the mechanics introduced is a system of weight – I would love to see people creating games based on varying locations and gravities!
- Finishing the rules. It’s hard to bend what isn’t really there, and you can quote me on that. And besides, with all of these new mechanics and difficulty settings, it’s going to be a chunky little rulebook!
- Finishing the rough drafts for card designs. I need to find a way of making it all fit. This, however, feels far more important than it really is – it’s all for the show, and will most likely be redesigned anyway if picked up.
So, those are the tasks. If I can’t get them done within the next few weeks, I will have them sorted during February – I’ve booked a week off of my 9 to 5 life to get things started, and hope to launch on KS during that week!
For now, I would just like to re-iterate from yesterday – I am looking for new names for the game. Robo-Fighter just isn’t catchy. I like the idea of Scrap Metal, but still, I’m open to suggestions. Just fill in the below to suggest!
For now, I have to be getting on with my various tasks. There will be images released, drawn by my (un)skilled hands or autoshaped up through various programs. Either way, more is on its way, and I hope you will like it!
