It has been nine whole days since my last post. Sorry everyone! I’m trying to keep up with everything, but have been suffering with flu recently. “Time off work, and no work done on the project?”, you say? Not quite. I tried, but with a head that felt thicker than a McDonalds milkshake, it wasn’t going anywhere. I struggled to watch Ren & Stimpy, and that’s not a particularly intellectual show.
So, here I am, on the verge of finishing the Rulebook for Scrap Metal. Yes, that seems to have stuck in my head as it’s name. I like it! Thanks for the suggestions, but Medabots is taken. Also, awesome.
As a man approaching 30, in my teen years there were a lot of excellent robots in the media. I used to watch things like Power Rangers, Beetle Borgs, Medabots, Megas XLR and there were awesome gaming series like Warhammer and MechWarrior. Now those games were legendary to me.
All of these things have been a major point of inspiration for the original game. They say that no idea is original anymore; I’m just admitting what I used for the source material.
So the Rulebook is almost finished, and my health is probably returning at some point. I will be printing a few copies using an online printing service, but my focus right now is finishing the rulebook and getting the parts lists together. That’s going to take some time, but eventually I’ll need to test everything. Can’t have a game if it just doesn’t work.
Keep feedback coming! I like to know your thoughts on this, and if you have an idea you would like to put forward, let me know!
