Progress recently has been slow, and I can give a number of excellent excuses. The main culprits are illness (nothing life-threatening, just enough to stop the gears of my mind from spinning as usual), the usual day-to-day of work life, researching other games in the genre and generally my mind wandering into new ventures.
I will be completing a project (at some point) before wandering too far off. Recently, I’ve thought about tabletop gaming with a general set of rules and asking players to guess the scenario based on famous films. Imagine the surprise as someone works out that the mysterious “item” they have to “deliver” is the Ring of Power, and they are actually playing through Lord of The Rings, or to suddenly have to make a dozen Charisma and Initiative checks to hurl abuse back at the French in Monty Python’s Holy Grail. The idea would be to just have players play, and each be given a card to write on – they get to write on it once they have guessed, and place it face down so the other players do not see what they have guessed… I think it would be an awesome idea. Maybe I should get into podcasting, but do I really need another hobby?
