Over the past few weeks, the internet seems to have exploded over Sony/Microsoft wars, which I have paid very little attention to. All I know is that Dead Rising 3 has only been announced on Xbox One, so that’s probably what I’ll buy. I’m a sucker for that series – the original is the reason I first bought an Xbox 360, so it’s fitting, really.
My work these days still pre-occupies my mind, but with excellent reason. I’ve been working on this project for years behind the scenes, and it’s only recently that I’ve started to push seriously – that means trawling through previous versions and hand-picking the parts that I can use and updating them, along with creating new parts.
The 3D modelling/rendering is going well, too. If you haven’t seen, you know where to go to check the images. I’m quickly getting better, and I’m creating more complex models and being more complex with my creativity. I’m learning all about how to effectively texture map, and even though the software I use can be a pain, I like to think of it as “having personality”. It’s like we’re an odd couple on a sitcom – I’m the hard-working creative one, and he’s the one that closes unexpectedly closes, losing work if I don’t save regularly. What a couple of kooks, right?
I have also been watching Wreck-It Ralph plenty this week. Expect one of my rare reviews soon regarding this, I completely love this film. In the space of 48 hours, I purchased the DVD, the soundtrack and the iOS game. They brought me Wreck-It Ralph, they can have my money, that’s my view.
The winner of the Scrap Metal TCG part naming competition was @postmangav who suggested the name “X-Weapon”, which I loved as it sounded cool and was a reference to the Marvel character Wolverine, who has claws and was code-named “Weapon-X“. So, perfect, really!
Well, that’s about all for this week. I’m considering adding more music to the site, share the songs that have invaded my brain since the last post. The tester is below – enjoy!
