As those of you who follow me on Twitter may have seen earlier today, I have decided not to proceed with work on Unity at this time. I will return at a later point, but for now I am not focussed on the tasks at hand. I feel it would be best for all of my projects that I attempt them and utilise the skills that I currently have, rather than try and learn something entirely new at this stage.
This does not mean, however, that you will never see a game like Scrap Metal TCG on Steam, or on Android/iOS – it just means that I have to prioritize at this time. The time I am spending trying to wrap my head around programming is severely detracting from time I could have spent finishing Scrap Metal TCG. As it stands, I released two updates this morning for the site, which were pieces of work that I had finished but had not uploaded. While this doesn’t seem like a big deal, it is a one man operation, and so if I don’t get the work done, nobody does, which is why the site was not updated since the beginning of September.
What makes things worse, on a personal level, was that tomorrow, 09/11/13, was the date that Scrap Metal TCG was going to debut at the Loading bar in London. I have had to cancel, as real-life and other projects have brought themselves to the forefront of my schedule, but it is depressing to know that I am in almost the same boat I was 2 months ago.
“So what is the point of this post?”, you may be asking. The point is, I’ve cleared my schedule. I will be making a note of my ideas for other games that I would love to develop, tabletop or otherwise, and will return to those at a later time. Right now, I have to get some work done.
A quick reminder, as the holiday season approacheth, please use the Amazon affiliate link – it costs nothing to use and helps fund my projects, no matter what purchase you make. It all helps develop Scrap Metal TCG, and in time my other projects too.
That’s all for today, but I’ll be back soon with updates.
